Welcome to the University of Botswana's Environmental Conservation Society site 

Like other Environmental organasations in Botswana, and indeed the rest of the world the ECS was formed as a result of the urgent need to protect and conserve the environment, which is vital for the existance of the human society. Human society can not live in an environment which is being depleted and worn out everyday.    
In preaching the gospel of environmental conservation, the University of Botswana conservation society has initiated various projects which have made the respective communities more aware of the need to conserve thier environment. Some of these projects include litterpicking (phepafatso tikologo) and tree planting. These projects have been carried out in, for example, Maung, Tsabong etc. And the ECS members expect to go to many other towns and villages within the country preaching the gospel of environmental conservation.    
What the Environmental Conservation Society would in essence like to say and see happening is people responding to our messages by practicing exactly what we preach, that is proper environmental conservation. By so doing we guarantee our existence and that of generations yet to come.
